Tournament Rules

Official rules and guidelines for all Lemon Tennis events

1

Match Format

  • All matches are best of 3 sets unless otherwise specified by the tournament organizer.
  • Each set is played to 6 games with a tiebreak at 6-6 (first to 7 points, win by 2).
  • A match tiebreak (first to 10 points, win by 2) is played in lieu of a third set when both players agree or the tournament format requires it.
2

Scoring

  • Standard tennis scoring applies: 15, 30, 40, deuce, advantage.
  • Players are responsible for calling their own lines honestly and fairly.
  • In case of a disputed call, the point should be replayed.
  • Score disputes must be raised immediately — not after the next point has been played.
3

Court & Equipment

  • Players must arrive at the assigned court at least 5 minutes before match time.
  • A 5-minute warm-up is allowed before the match begins.
  • Players must use ITF-approved tennis balls provided by the tournament.
  • Appropriate tennis attire and non-marking court shoes are required.
4

Conduct

  • Players are expected to show sportsmanship and respect toward opponents, officials, and spectators.
  • Verbal abuse, racket abuse, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in a warning, point penalty, or disqualification.
  • Mobile phones must be silenced during match play.
  • Coaching from the stands is not permitted during match play.
5

Withdrawals & Walkovers

  • Players must notify the organizer at least 24 hours in advance if they need to withdraw.
  • Failure to appear within 15 minutes of the scheduled match time results in a walkover loss.
  • Medical withdrawals during a match must be verified by the on-site official.
6

Result Submission

  • The winning player is responsible for submitting the match result via the app within 1 hour of match completion.
  • Both players must confirm the result. Unconfirmed results will be reviewed by the organizer.
  • Falsifying match results may result in disqualification from the tournament.
